Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (also known as Mascot Airport, Kingsford Smith Airport, or Sydney Airport) is an international airport in Sydney, Australia, located 8 kilometres south of the CBD in the Mascot area. Sydney Airport Holdings owns the airport. It is Sydney’s principal airport, and it serves as a primary hub for Qantas, a secondary hub for Virgin Australia and Jetstar, and a focus city for Air New Zealand. The airport, which is located near to Botany Bay, has three runways.

In 2016–17, Sydney Airport handled 42.6 million passengers and 348,904 aircraft operations, making it one of the world’s longest continually operating commercial airports. In 2016, it was the world’s 38th busiest airport. Sydney is currently served directly from 46 domestic and 43 international destinations.

The airport was voted the 20th best airport in the world at the Skytrax World Airport Awards in 2018, and was ranked in the top five internationally for airports handling 40–50 million people yearly.
